Programming Goods and Bads

At this time of the year, I start to think about how to improve courses for next year. Please add your comments on how the course could be improved for the benefit of future students.

Thanks to Steve and Jonathan

I met Steve at a Canterbury Computing Teachers gathering, and again at the CCES Multimedia and Programming competitions. He shared his enthusiasm for blogging and gave me some pointers on how it could be set up for use with classes.
I then went to a blogging workshop at NavCon2k4 which reinfored the message and gave me chance to play. Jonathan told us that if you search Google for "Jonathan's Blog" his comes up in the top few hits. The workshop was supposed to be about Action Enquiry using blogs, which I had not properly registered. Was interesting because I have just finished an action research project which was printed and bound in the traditional way. I felt that the process was quite isolated, and maybe blogging might have got more interaction with other people who could have contributed valuabe insights.
Tomorrow I will talk to some students about blogs and what prior experience they have.
